Skagit Valley Tulip Run


Date: Saturday, April 7, 2012

Race Start Time: 9:30 am

Day Of Race Registration/Chip, shirt and number pick-up: 7:30 am - 9:15 am. 5 mile runners who wish to be timed MUST pre-register.

Distances: 5 Mile Run and 2 Mile Run/Walk

Location: Skagit Regional Airport in Burlington, WA

Directions: Take exit 230 from I-5 north or south. Drive west on State Route 20 to the Port of Skagit sign and take a right onto Higgins Airport Way. Registration is located at Van Zyverden Bulb at 12035 Higgins Airport Way. Arrive early to find parking.

Course: 80% gravel, 20% road. One aid station will be located about halfway on the 5 mile course. Both courses will be open for 2 hours.

Pre-Registration fees:
Must be postmarked by April 2, 2012. All applications received by mail after that date will not be accepted. Pre-registration bib number and shirt pick up will be available on Thursday, April 5 from 11 am - 5 pm and on Friday, April 6 from 11 am - 4 pm at Skagit Running Company (702 S 1st St, Mount Vernon, 360-982-2934). Shirts will not be mailed after the event. Packet pick up will also be available day of race between 7:30 am and 9:15 am.
2 & 5 Mile with shirt - $22
2 & 5 Mile without shirt - $12
14 & under, 70 & over - free without shirt (shirts may be purchased for $10)

Please pre-register if possible. For the 5 mile, you must pre-register if you want to be timed and/or be eligible for awards.

Registration:
Print out and mail in the entry form by April 2, 2012
Register in person at Skagit Running Company (702 S 1st St, Mount Vernon, 360-982-2934) until 4 pm on Thursday, April 5.
Register online at Databar Events until midnight, April 3 
Day of race registration will be available from 7:30 am until 9:15 am.
IMPORTANT: We are chip timing the 5 mile race, but will not be assigning chips on race morning. This means that 5 milers who register day of race will NOT be timed, eligible for awards or appear in the race results. If you are running the 5 mile race, please pre-register so that we can get everybody timed.

Timing:
We will be chip timing the 5 mile race this year. Only pre-registered 5 mile runners will be timed. The 2 mile will be timed using stop watches. There will be large clocks at each finish line so you can see your time as you finish.

Changing race distances:
If you need to change race distances, please do so at Skagit Running Company as soon as possible (or email the race director before race day). If you want to change distance on the day of the race, please go to the solutions desk. If you are changing from the 5 mile to the 2 mile, turn in your chip. If you are changing from the 2 mile to the 5 mile, report your bib number to the solution desk. If you change from the 2 mile to the 5 mile day of race you will NOT receive a chip and will not be timed.

Official race photography: Official race photography will be provided by Jon Brunk Photography from Bellingham. Photos will be available to be purchased from the Brunk Photo website soon after the race.

Awards: Awards will be given in both races to the top 3 overall (male and female) as well as first Masters (male and female). Top 3 in each age division (male and female) will receive a Tulip Run medal. THERE WILL BE NO MAILING OF SHIRTS OR AWARDS. THEY MAY BE PICKED UP AT SKAGIT RUNNING COMPANY (702 S 1st St, Mount Vernon).
